Ref: ongoing RFP

For the record I believe that the only generating capacity that can ensure long-term price stability is an alternative energy generation source such that Offshore Wind-power generation would provide. If you calculate the savings that will result from no commodity price fluctuations, not having to pay looming Carbon-Dioxide taxes and accumulation of benefits from lower Health-Care costs it seems that in the long-term wind-power will be cheaper in costs to the average customer. The intangibles of ecological and environmental responsibilities we face should certainly be factored into any decision we make.

A "no decision" in the RFP process resulting in maintaining the status-quo would certainly put the consumer at considerable risk of future dramatic rate increases (such as May 2006) and should not be an option.
